Xinjiang Agricultural University (XJAU), Institution Code (National Standard): 10758, located in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is a public university with agricultural sciences as its advantageous and characteristic disciplines. XJAU enrolls full-time international students for Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. Adhering to the enrollment principles of fair competition, equitable selection, and merit-based admission, XJAU is committed to cultivating outstanding international students who are friendly towards China.

 

I. Enrollment Plan

XJAU plans to enroll 285 international students for the 2026 academic year, including 50 doctoral students, 60 master's students, and 175 bachelor's students. For the detailed list of enrollment majors, refer to the attached document Table 1.pdf:

 

II. Admission Requirements

1. Non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health, friendly towards China, of good character, and with no record of criminal offenses.

 

2. Willingness to voluntarily abide by Chinese government laws and regulations as well as university rules (Letter of Commitment for Studying in China).

 

3. Possess sufficient financial resources (Financial Guarantee Letter) or be supported by government scholarships.

 

4. Specific admission requirements for different levels of students:

a. Must have completed at least 12 years of primary and secondary education, hold a high school diploma, and have above-average academic grades.

b. Applicants whose HSK level does not meet the requirement for degree studies may apply for Chinese language preparatory courses for a maximum of four semesters.

(1) Bachelor's Degree Applicants: Initial enrollment age not exceeding 25 years old. Must have completed at least 12 years of primary and secondary education, hold a high school diploma, and have above-average academic grades.

(2) Master's Degree Applicants: Initial enrollment age not exceeding 26 years old. Must hold a Bachelor's degree from a program of four years or more.

(3) Doctoral Degree Applicants: Initial enrollment age not exceeding 35 years old. Must hold a Master's degree.

 

III. Deadlines of Enrollment and Admission

Application Deadline: July 15, 2026

Admission Decision Deadline: July 30, 2026

Registration Deadline: The last week of August 2026

 

IV. Application Process

1. Applicants submit their CV and study application.

2. Applicants participate in written tests and interviews as required.

3. Admission notices and scholarship application forms are issued to eligible candidates.

4. Admitted students submit scanned copies of their highest degree certificate (or current study certificate), academic transcripts, and language proficiency certificates (e.g., HSK, IELTS, or TORFL).

5. For bachelor's degree applicants: Must submit a scanned copy of the transcripts of China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) Test; Applicants applying for Master's or above must submit scanned copies of recommendation letters from associate professors or higher, as well as research proposals, and other relevant materials.

6. Admitted students shall pay the application fee within the time limit upon notification (application fee is non-refundable). Failure to submit the aforementioned materials and pay the registration fee on time will result in disqualification. This provision shall not apply to students under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program (including local government scholarship programs) who are exempt from the registration fee.

7. Upon approval of the application documents, scholarship award notices will be issued to eligible applicants.

8. Submit scanned copies (PDF format) of the following materials by the specified deadline:

(1) Certificate of No Criminal Record;

(2) Foreigner Physical Examination Form;

(3) Proof of funds (for non-full scholarship students);

(4) Medical Insurance for International Students in China

(5) Tuition payment receipt (for students who have received a tuition payment notice)

9. Xinjiang Agricultural University will process and issue the Visa Application Form for Study in China (DQ form or JW202 form). Students must take this form to the local visa center to apply for a student visa.

 

V. Scholarships

(a) First-Class Scholarship: covers application fee, tuition fee, and insurance fee. Provides free on-campus accommodation (including bedding) and a 10-month living allowance.

(b) Second-Class Scholarship: covers insurance fee. Provides free on-campus accommodation (including bedding) and a 10-month living allowance.

(c) Third-Class Scholarship: covers insurance fee. Provides free on-campus accommodation (including bedding) without living allowance.

(d) Monthly living allowance standards for First and Second-Class Scholarships are:

Bachelor's students: 1000 RMB/month, Master's students: 1220 RMB/month, Doctoral students: 1500 RMB/month. Allowance are distributed monthly.

(e) For Second and Third-Class Scholarships, tuition fees are reduced to the following standards:

1. Bachelor's Degree and Preparatory Programs: CNY 4000/year

2. Master's Degree Programs: CNY 6000/year

3. Doctoral Degree Programs: CNY 8000/year

(f) Supervisors Scholarship for Postgraduate Students: Following the review and based on academic performance, eligible postgraduate students who have entered the Masters program may receive this scholarship on a monthly basis.

(g) International Travel Grant for PhD Students: International students who obtain a doctoral degree from our university may claim a one-time reimbursement of international travel expenses up to CNY5,000 against round-trip air tickets during their study period.

(h) Government Scholarship (including International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship): The coverage and standards of funding shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant requirements of the current year.

(i) All monthly living allowances under the scholarships shall be issued in accordance with the Xinjiang Agricultural University 2026 Scholarship Program and Funding Measures for International Students.

 

VI. Joint Training

1. For current master’s and doctoral students, joint supervision shall be provided by supervisors appointed by both Chinese and foreign universities. Students at all grade levels may conduct research and study at XJAU for up to one year.

 

2. First-year master’s and doctoral students may can be registered as students of Xinjiang Agricultural University.
