Xinjiang Agricultural University (XJAU) 2026 Application Guide for Studying in China

1. Carefully read the Admission Regulations for International Students of 'Xinjiang Agricultural University' for the current year.

2. Select your study program and major in accordance with the 'Admission Brochure for International Students of Xinjiang Agricultural University' for the current year.

3. Application and Admission Procedures:

(1) Applicants shall submit their CV and application for studying in China.

(2) Applicants shall take the required written examination and interview.

(3) XJAU will issue admission letters and scholarship application forms.

(4) Admitted students shall submit scanned copies of their highest academic certificate (or certificate of current enrollment), academic transcripts, and language proficiency certificates (including HSK, IELTS, Russian Language Proficiency Test Certificate, etc.).

(5) Applicants for bachelor’s degree must provide a scanned copy of their  CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment) transcript. Master’s and doctoral applicants must submit scanned copies of recommendation letters from supervisors with senior associate professional title or above, a research proposal, and other required documents.

(6) Pay the application fee: Applicants who receive the payment notification shall pay the fee as required (the application fee is non-refundable). Exceptions apply to those who are exempted from application fees under the Chinese Government Scholarship (including local government scholarships).

(7) Failure to submit the aforementioned documents or pay the application fee within the specified time will result in cancellation of admission eligibility.

(8) Scholarship recipients will be issued scholarship award notifications.

(9) Submit scanned copies (in PDF format) of the following documents by the deadline:

  ①　Certificate of No Criminal Record

  ②　Foreigner Physical Examination Form

  ③　Proof of Financial Support (for non-full scholarship students)

  ④　Medical insurance for international students in China

  ⑤　Tuition payment receipt (for students who receive tuition payment notices)

(10) XJAU will process the Visa Application for Study in China (Form DQ / JW202) for admitted students. Students shall apply for a Chinese student visa at the local visa center with this form and register at the university on time. Failure to register within two weeks after the deadline will result in cancellation of admission eligibility.

7. Documents to Bring for Registration

(1) Original copies of admission letter, Commitment Letter for International Students of Xinjiang Agricultural University, guarantee statement of financial support, scholarship award notification, etc.

(2) Original passport or ID valid for at least 12 months after arrival in China.

(3) Scanned copies of all required documents listed in the appendix.

(4) Eight printed photos identical to the electronic photo submitted during the application stage.

8. Personal expenses to be prepared upon registration:

Prepare a reserve fund of no less than CNY5,000 for daily living expenses.

9. Payment Deadline and Consequences of Overdue Payment

Students who fail to pay all required fees within 15 working days after registration will automatically lose student status, have their visa canceled, and be required to leave China within a time limit at their own expense, with all associated costs borne by themselves. Students who are eligible for scholarships and fail to pay required fees within 10 working days after registration will automatically lose their scholarship eligibility.

10. Tuition & Accommodation Fee Payment and Refund Policy

(1) Tuition and accommodation fees shall be paid for at least one academic year per payment.

(2) Refund Policy

  ①　Tuition Refund

1) Students who have paid tuition but do not register and apply for withdrawal before the university issues Form DQ/JW202 will receive a full tuition refund. Those who apply for withdrawal after Form DQ/JW202 is issued will receive a 90% refund (10% deduction of the annual tuition).

2) Students who withdraw or lose student status within one month after registration will receive a 90% refund (10% deduction). Those who withdraw after one month but within half a semester will receive a 50% refund (50% deduction). No refund will be granted for withdrawal after half a semester.

3) For the second semester and thereafter: students who withdraw within one month of the semester start will receive a 30% refund of the annual tuition; no refund will be granted for withdrawal after one month.

4) Tuition paid by partial scholarship students is non-refundable.

1. Students who withdraw from school and have paid their accommodation fees will have accommodation fees refunded according to university regulations. Students who is under preferential accommodation fee policies will not have their paid accommodation fees refunded.

2. Students who withdraw within one semester and received free bedding from the university will be charged a bedding fee of CNY550, which will be deducted from the refundable fees upon withdrawal.

3. If a student bears financial compensation liability but refuses to pay, any unpaid financial compensation will be deducted from the refundable amount upon withdrawal.

Appendix 1：Required Application Documents

1. Basic Documents for All Applicants

(1) Highest academic degree certificate and academic transcript (pre-graduation certificate for current students; formal degree certificate to be submitted on time after graduation).

(2) Current university students shall provide university admission letter, admission transcript, certificate of enrollment, and approval letter for studying abroad.

(3) Scanned copy of passport or ID valid for at least 12 months after arrival in China.

(4) Electronic ID photo (2-inch, white background, JPG/JPEG format, full face uncovered).

(5) Language proficiency certificate (i.e., HSK, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.).

(6) CV (including employment status, marital status, family members, education history starting from primary school).

(7) Financial Support Guarantee Statement and Commitment Letter for International Students of Xinjiang Agricultural University.

NOTE: 'Undergraduate applicants must provide a scanned copy of their CSCA transcript'.

2. Additional Documents for Master’s Applicants

(1) Two recommendation letters from supervisors with senior associate professional title or above in the relevant discipline of the graduating university.

(2) Study plan (minimum 1500 words, including study plan in China and career objectives after graduation).

(3) Scanned copies of research achievements or published papers.

3. Additional Documents for Doctoral Applicants

(1) Two recommendation letters from supervisors with senior associate professional title or above in the relevant discipline of the graduating university.

(2) Research achievements and published papers.

(3) Study plan (minimum 1500 words, including academic CV, doctoral study plan in China, career objectives after graduation).

(4) Summary and scanned copy of master’s thesis.
