International Students Admission Brochure Of Xinjiang Agricultural University

Established by the Xinjiang provincial government since 1952, Xinjiang Agriculture University (XJAU) has been agriculture-oriented for higher education that covers agriculture, science, engineering, economy, business management, literature and law. The university now has 6 postdoctoral research stations, and has authorized to offer Ph.D. in 18 programs/disciplinary directions, M.S. in 73 programs/disciplinary directions, Major Degree in 4 programs/disciplinary directions, B.S. in 60 undergraduate majors, in 19 colleges/faculties. It is spectacular in higher education to students from ethnic groups of the north-western region of China. Furthermore, over 3,000 foreign students from 30 countries have been educated at the College of International Education of XJAU since 1986.

The university has owned one national key discipline, one national key training disciplines under the national key discipline, one co-invested key laboratory by province and the ministry of agriculture, one scientific observing station, one national experimental station of the Ministry of Agriculture, 7 provincial key laboratories, one nation-level demonstration center for experimental teaching, 7 provincial-level leading centers for experimental teaching.

College of International Education

In order to strengthen communication with the world on aspects of academic subjects development, scientific research, and talents forstering, Xinjiang Agricultural University has successively established inter-university exchange programs with 45 universities and research institutions of over 10 countries such as United Sates, Australia, Russia, Japan, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Uzebikistan. Meanwhile, student exchange and communication program have been established with friendly overseas schools,and a Confucius Institute at the University of Agricultural, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Most of the international students are pursuing bachelor’s or Master's degree in agricultural science, agricultural economic management, resource environment management, international economy and trade, Pratacultural science, food science, civil engineering. Others are students of non-degree programs such as advanced study or Chinese language study.

Application for Admission

Applicants can contact Confucius Institute at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, or College of International Education of XJAU, to ask for “Admission Brochure”, “XJAU international Students Admission Application Form”.

Applicants shall provide materials as below:

(1)  Admission application form

(2)  Copy of passport

(3)  8 photos of the same requirment as passport (2 inches)

(4)  Copy of academic certificate (applicant for language or advanced language study shall provide)

(5)  Original highest academic certificate, marks sheet, No Objection Certificate and HSK certificate (students for degree program shall provide), and Non criminal records certificate.

(6) Curriculum Vitae (Chinese or English version)

(7) Health certificate

(8) Application fee US$ 60.00

3. Procedures

1、Application time

Applicants who are ready to come for the Fall term shall submit application to school of international education of our university before May 1st of each year; those who are ready to come for the Spring term shall submit application before November 1st of each year.

2、Preparation and submission of application materials

3、After receiving application materials and application fee, the school starts to handle verification and authorization procedure, then sends “XJAU Letter of Admission” and “Visa Application Form for International Students”(Form JW 202)

4、Applicants admitted shall go to local Chinese embassy  or consulate with letter of admission and Form JW202 to handle student visa and go to Xinjiang Agricultural University for enrollment as schedule  required by letter of admission.

4. Fee Standard (RMB)

1. Application Fee: US$ 60.00

2.Tuition

（1）PCLL (Primary Chinese Language learning):    US$ 900.00 /six months

（2）ASCL (Advanced Studies of Chinese language):  US$1050.00 /six months

（3）B.S (Bachelor degree study in Bussiness Management, Agriculture, Literature):

Taught in Chinese: US$ 1200.00 per semester

Taught in English: US$2025.00 per semester

（4）M.S (Master degree in Bussiness Management, Agriculture,Civil engineering, Veterinary):

Taught in Chinese: US$ 1250.00 per semester

Taught in English: US$2075.00 per semester

（5）Ph.D (Doctor degree in Civil Engineering,Agriculture,

Economy,Bussiness Management):    

            Taught in Chinese: US$ 1550.00 per semester

            Taught in English: US$2375.00 per semester

3. Textbook Charge: According to actual cost

4. Insurance Expense: US$ 100.00 per year

5. Medical Examination Expense: US$ 65.00 persemester since 2nd semester

7. Accommodation Fee:

International students' double-bed dormitory, US$ 550.00 for each student per semester, US$ 100.00 for security deposit per student (equipped with bed, desk, closet, toilet, networks, public washing room dining room, charge of water, power, internet access shall be on students own expense.)

5. Expenditures and Payment Methods

Cash in US dollars listed in the table should be sent to Xinjiang Agricultural University, or Confucius Institute at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad for applicants from Pakistan, before receiving Form JW 202.

6. Scholarship

International students have opportunities to win scholarships accordingly when they study at the University of Agriculture, Xinjiang

Xinjiang Agricultural University offers scholarship as follows:

(1) XinjiangAgriculture University evaluate and offer XJAU Semester Scholarships for International Student classified as A level of US$560, B level of US$420 and C level of US$ 280.

(2) Confucius Institute Scholarships (CI-Scholarship) are available for applicants from CI-UAF.
